What is GeoRSS?

 GeoRSS

GeoRSS is an addition to RSS coding that allows users to reference their media (images, movies, soundfiles, etc) geographically.  There are 2 coding standards: Simple and GML. The code includes specific geographic coordinates collected by a GPS unit or by locating the coordinates through a website such as maporama.com.   More information about GeoRSS, the standards and the history of this protocol can be found at http://georss.org

Geotagging

Geotagging is more commonly found as it allows general uploading of media to websites and adding general location information (such as a city name or address rather than a geographic coordinate).  Geotags may be searched but they are generally not a part of an RSS feed and therefore can not be "followed" or subscribed to. More information about geotagging can be found at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geotagging
